Bipartisanship: The Challenges and Opportunities...a Candid Discussion

(a virtual webinar) New Start Time: 7:30pm February 23rd!

Various studies verify that political polarization is growing. Yet the U.S. Congress is very evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans. In the House, Democrats hold a 221 to 211 majority over Republicans. While in the Senate, the 50/50 split is only offset by a potential deciding vote by Vice President Harris. Legislation addressing some of the major issues facing our nation will require members of both parties to come together. Congressman Ron Kind will have a candid discussion with La Crosse Tribune Executive Editor, Bob Heisse regarding the challenges and opportunities in reaching bipartisan solutions.

- Ron Kind is the U.S. Representative of the 3rd Congressional District of Wisconsin. He was elected in 1996 and is the senior member of Wisconsin's Congressional delegation. He is a member of the influential Ways and Means Committee. In 2020, he was recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for Bipartisanship.

- Bob Heisse is the Executive Editor of the La Crosse Tribune. Prior to coming to La Crosse he served as top editor in Springfield, Illinois, Northwest Indiana and (most recently) in Kenosha where the Kenosha News was recognized for the news coverage of the Jacob Blake story.
